Frank Block thankfully took pictures and with his fellow friend
and soldier Bill Parsons kept a diary of their platoons activity
during training and action in France, Germany, and Austria
during World War 2 from Aug 1944 to September 1945.
He went to Norman Oklahoma to study acoustics and optics
for the Army Reserves to study maps if he was called to service. As it turned out he was called for the infantry and
went to basic training in Texas and became a anti tank
canonneer with the 103rd "Cactus Division".
Frank Block then went overseas to the south of France and
his division fought in 2 major campaigns, helped get
displaced prisoners back to their countries and served as an
interpreter.
